Eclectic music producer Release has been in love with music since he can remember. Hip-Hop has been an evident part of his existence coming out of Evanston, Illinois, where a lucid love and passion for all facets of the culture is adored and appreciated. Through music, Release was able to liberate in a positive way with all that constructive power and give people joy in all beauty that is created with beats/sounds.
Born Ari Jacob Newberger, January 29, 1982 in Evanston, Illinois. When he was in middle school (12 years old) he discovered hiphop. As a birthday gift that year he received his first dosage of real hip-hop by receiving Wu-Tang’s “Enter the 36 Chambers” and A Tribe Called Quest’s “Midnight Marauders.” Those two influential groups gave him an undying love and passion for hip-hop music that has made an everlasting impact on his life ‘til this day.
In order to extricate his newfound love for music as a young teen, he along with fellow friends/musicians created a hip-hop group called MOC 4 (Vanysh and OneTwoKno, with childhood friend (DJ Neo-P), where they explored music in a way that all of them could vibe off of and could relate to. After the separation of MOC 4 but not the separation of friendships, Release moved on to produce for members of a local Evanston group called Slaughter House Five: Chapter, Lost Won, Drub, Lord 360, & DJ Maestro and remained friends, some who make an appearance on his first album also.
Experiences from 2000-until the present, have really transformed Release as a musician. With exponential growth and passion for his music, this album couldn’t come at a better time in his life. Graduating from Columbia College Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in Audio Arts and Acoustics, and a concentration in Audio for Visual Media, Release has been given the tools that he has needed to make an impact on the world.
